This is a long recording taken in the backyard of my neighborhood on july 4, 2021. There are lots of distant (and a few closer) booms and explosion sounds. Kind of sounds like a war going on! in this longer recording a plane also flies overhead, and someone drives down the street.

My neighborhood on july 4, 2012 (independence day, us). More crackly fountain sparklers and whistlers in this one, but still lots of bottle-rockets and mortars.

Northwest wind gusts through a forest of oak and beech and pine trees. Recorded on saturday july 21st, 2018 at 3:30pm in a midwestern forest. Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. A nice, peaceful, soothing snapshot of summer----recorded just 4 weeks after the solstice here in the northern hemishpere. Temp: 84 degrees fhumidity: 51%. Recorder: sound devices 702microphone: sennheiser mkh-416.

The Armstrong Twins and Harold Hensley perform Stuck Up Blues, Mandolin Boogie and Bill Cheatum at KXLA's Hometown Jamboree on July 4, 1949. The Hometown Jamboree was one of the west coast's most popular barn dance shows and was led by Cliffie Stone. On Bill Cheatum, Harold Hensley is on fiddle and Eddie Kirk plays guitar. A tiny baby chipmunk chirping at me and looking at me as a stern warning. It was about 2 inches long and sitting on a tree branch about 4 feet in the air. After some time realizing i was not leaving, the chipmunk retreated into the distanct and out of my sight. Recorded on: tascam dr-05xdate: july 9, 2022location: clegg lake, uintas, utah, usa.

Fireworks recorded amidst the buildings of an apartment complex. Lowpassed around 1khz. Slightly expanded dynamic range. I cut as many incidental noises as i could hear on my headphones (cars, neighbors, etc) but there's still some residual hum from an electrical box that was nearby as well as wind. This is the sound of a viking electric lawnmower in action; mowing a piece of lawn. Today i got my audio equipment. This is my first contribution. When i was walking around today to catch sounds, i met a man who was mowing his lawn. I asked him if i could record him while he was mowing his lawn. He agreed and i was allowed to record him mowing. It's a viking electric lawnmower. Description: a man mows the lawn with an electric lawnmower. He drives the lawn mower over a piece of path to the meadow, mows and drives the lawn mower back. At the beginning of the recording, there is a short question asked if he should start now, which i confirm. The recording is unedited.
